Khajjiar - Often called India's Switzerland, the exquisite glade of Khajjiar (altitude 1960m, 6500 feet) has a circumference of about 5 km. It is a small picturesque saucer-shaped plateau surrounded by dense pine and deodar forests, Along its fringes, thick forests of deodar climb the slopes, the snow-line rests above these woods. At Khajjiar there is a 12th century temple dedicated to Khajjiar Nag (serpent god) from which the name is believed to have been derived. In the mandapa of the temple one can see the images of the Pandavas and the defeated Kaurvas hanging from the roof of the circumambulatory path.
